Help Your Students Be Heard - Ask Them to Take MATC’s Collegewide Survey Coming in March

In March, our degree-credit students will have an important opportunity to tell us what they think of their experiences at MATC by taking our Student Satisfaction Survey.

The survey can be completed between March 19 and April 1 -

  • online
  • outside of class
  • anytime

We will be asking you to encourage your students to take the survey. Our last survey had a low response rate, and we need your involvement this year to ensure wide participation by degree-credit students across our campuses. We also are working on a separate survey for our nondegree students. What our students tell us will help guide MATC’s ongoing continuous improvement efforts. In 2005, our students’ satisfaction with MATC was rated significantly below the norm for two-year colleges. For instance, they indicated dissatisfaction with:

  • admittance timelines
  • tuition and fees payment processes
  • information resources
  • text book costs.

Based on this information, last year we:

  • implemented online registration
  • started online bill payment
  • launched “Ask MATC’ - our online information resource
  • began exploring options, some with our Student Senate, to reduce text book costs.

You’ll be hearing more details about the survey as we get closer to the date, such as the special incentives students may receive by participating. Stay turned for more information, but talk to your students now about how they can express their opinions in MATC’s online Student Satisfaction Survey in March.
