MATC Matters

Fall 2006 Student Assessment Results Reporting:
For faculty who missed the end of semester student summative assessment results reporting in the LOAD database, we will have Fall 2006 semester rosters available in LOAD-Learning Outcomes Assessment Database until January 26th.

Spring 2007 Formative and /or Summative Assessment Courses:

Are you teaching a course that is designated for Formative or Summative Assessment?
To identify if your courses this semester are designated for formative or summative assessments, please access the LOAD database and view the “Summative Assessment Tool and Performance Target Screen� by selecting that top header in the LOAD program. At the bottom of the screen, there is a table labeled “Currently Defined Summative Assessment Tools� that contains the information on each course for: outcomes to be assessed and assessment type designed for the outcome.

If the table does not contain the information you require, view the Learning Outcome Matrix for your program or department, also please contact your lead teacher, program director or Mary Vlisides.

For Faculty responsible for Learning Outcomes Formative Assessment:

• Identify on your syllabus the learning outcomes (core abilities and /or program outcomes) that you are teaching and assess in your course.
• Teach and assess the learning outcomes in your course this semester.
• Provide feedback to the students on their assessments, this can be informal, verbal or written.

For Faculty responsible for Learning Outcomes Summative Assessment:

• Identify on your syllabus the learning outcomes that you are teaching and assessing in your course.
• Teach and assess learning outcomes in your course this semester.
• Provide feedback to the students on their assessments, this can be done in multiple ways in a group setting or individually, verbal or written feedback, example: use of rubric.
• Report student summative assessment results by course. This can be done anytime during the semester by accessing your LOAD course roster under the “Assessment Resultsâ€? section on LOAD. The last day for reporting summative assessment results for Spring 2007 is May 22, 2007.
