Stem Cell Lectures at MATC
January 23, 2007 | EditorThe biotechnology department has invited stem cell experts from the University of Wisconsin to talk to our students about stem cell technologies and social issues relating to their use.
There will be a beginning lecture to explain the science of stem cells from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on January 31. There will then be a second lecture to cover the use of stem cells in regenerative medicine, and the social and legal concerns regarding their use. The second lecture is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Feb. 28.
Students and staff from the MATC community are welcome to attend (scientific background is not required), but we need to know how many people to expect to reserve the proper size room. If you are interested in attending either lecture, and/or would like to bring students, please contact Lisa Seidman by email or at 246-6204 as soon as possible.
