RE: PSRP Entering of T&L When School Closes

The following provides guidance regarding the entering of hours for PSRP during times when the college closes, such as the recent closure earlier this month.

  1. Employees shall receive pay for their normally scheduled hours of work for the time the school is closed. Overtime hours that may have been scheduled, but due to the closing are not worked, shall not be paid. Full time PSRP should enter their hours as Base Hourly. should enter the hours as Base Hourly with a comment (using the more option) indicating school closing due to weather. Part time PSRP using Time Sheet should enter the hours scheduled and put a comment on the time sheet.
  2. Employees required to or asked to work when school is closed shall receive overtime (at time and one-half) pay or compensatory time off for hours worked up to the end of their normal work schedule. Hours worked beyond the normal work schedule should be paid pursuant to the overtime provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. PSRP inputting hours per day can show their Base Hourly time and their overtime on the Time and Labor system. PSRP inputting In-and-Out hours should indicate their Base Hourly time online, and complete a paper time sheet for the overtime.
  3. An employee on a leave status at the time of the school closing (sick, vacation, personal, leave without pay) shall have their leave charged for the hours of their normal workday. Employees who did not report to work at all on 12/11/2007 due to the weather need to indicate a paid leave type up until 12:15 p.m. and then indicate their regular scheduled hours for the remainder as Base Hourly with a comment of school closing (using the more option).

Should you have additional questions, please contact the payroll department. They will be happy to assist you.
