MATC Global Horizons program offers many different study abroad opportunities designed to fit the needs (and pocketbook) of many different types of students from less-than-two-weeks to full-semester abroad options.
MATC is currently accepting applications for three summer study abroad programs:
- Study Abroad in Australia - Join students from other colleges in the Midwest for an adventure in culture and history down under! This fout-week program runs from June 29 - July 29, 2007, with classes in Sydney, Australia. Program includes morning classes and afternoon field trips to important cultural sights and landmarks in the Sydney region.
- Learn Spanish in Mexico - Immerse yourself in Spanish language and the culture of Mexico. This five‑week program includes courses in Spanish on the lively and modern campus of the Tecnológico de Monterrey campus in Cuernavaca, Mexico May 23 - July 5, 2007. This program includes home stay language immersion and field trips to important cultural sights.
- Service Learning in Belize - Make a difference and learn hands‑on in sustainable development projects in this two‑week program in rural Belize June 2 - 17, 2007. Students can sign up for either health care or rainforest ecology tracks. Health Care students will provide outreach services at rural clinics. Rainforest ecology students will work in the national forest. Program includes weekend excursions to Mayan ruins and snorkeling in the Caribbean barrier reef.
International study is a great way to make your resume stand out from the pack. Employers today list global knowledge and the ability to work with people from other cultures as key employment competencies in today’s global job market.
Plus it is a great way to see the world and join fellow students in an adventure of experiential learning!
