The “Textbook Initiative is sponsored by the MATC Student Senate, with assistance from the MATC Institutional Research & Effectiveness Department and is positively endorsed by members of the MATC College Council.

It is the objective of the MATC Student Senate, in cooperation with the college, to “enhance and improve college services for students. As such, the Senate has a goal to “create the best possible system in which students at MATC can afford to access, borrow, rent or purchase new and used textbooks.

There is a survey designed specifically for teaching faculty and another survey specifically for students. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. Answers are confidential and data will be analyzed by the MATC Research & Effectiveness Department. A summary of findings will be presented to the MATC College Council later this spring semester. There will be coverage in The Clarion, as well as other possible strategies including focus groups with faculty and with students. The Student Senate will highlight the survey results in their Annual Report & presentation to the MATC District Board in April 2007.

Thank you for your insightful responses on the FACULTY TEXTBOOK SURVEY and for encouraging students to take the STUDENT TEXTBOOK SURVEY.
