Math Club Presents “Wine Bottles and Pizza Sharing” Lecture

“Wine Bottles and Pizza Sharingâ€? is the intriguing title of MATC Math Club’s 59th monthly presentation. Professor Elgin Johnston of Iowa State University will present the lecture on Wednesday, February 21, 3:30 p.m.
You and your students are invited to attend. As usual, there will be a door prize (graphing calculator) for qualified MATC students.

About Professor Johnston:
Elgin Johnston earned his doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana in 1977 in the fields of complex analysis and approximation theory. He presently is professor and associate chair of mathematics at Iowa State University. At this time, he is serving as chair of the Committee on American Mathematics Competitions, problems editor for Mathematics Magazine, chair of the Editorial Board for the MAA Problem book series, and brewer of numerous hoppy lagers and ales. He recently co-authored a textbook, Calculus, published by Addison Wesley.
