WACTE Donates $500 to Support Alternative Spring Break
February 28, 2007 | EditorThe MATC Chapter of Wisconsin Association for Career and Technical Education, also known as WACTE, has committed to give $500 to help support an MATC student who would like to participate in one of the upcoming Alternative Break experiences.
This year, students will lend their hands across the country helping with recovery efforts in New Orleans, serving meals and working in a homeless shelter in Washington DC, visiting HIV and AIDS patients in New York City and fixing up homes for people in the coal mining region of the Appalachians.
Visit our table at Convocation (our members also will be on hand to serve lunch) and find out more about WACTE and how you can join us! WACTE is an organization of more than 1,200 teachers, counselors, school administrators, teacher educators, support staff, business/industry partners and others with an interest in workforce education.
WACTE members join together to support technical and career education in a number of ways. We raise scholarships for students, provide professional development opportunities, monitor and support legislation aimed at technical education, and promote lifelong learning.
