Books Needed in MATC Library for Upper Midwest Author Project

The College Reading & Learning Strategies classes are doing an Upper Midwest Author Project, where students read a book of their choice from the library’s collection of books by Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Upper Penninsula authors.

The students say they enjoy this assignment, and for many, it is the first book they have ever read. The assignment is to write a summary, a short author’s biography, a reaction paper, and give a short presentation.

We have five classes this semester and more are expected in the fall. It would be very helpful to expand the library’s collection. If you have any books that would fit in this category, either fiction or non-fiction, they can be donated to the library. You will be given a receipt for donations for tax purposes and you will be helping the students out with a wider selection.
