Bring your lunch and hear about teaching strategies that show promise for improving developmental student learning will be featured in this live webcast program. The strategies include: Peer‑led Team Learning, Accelerated Learning Groups, Brain Compatible Learning, Structured Learning Assistance, and others.
The MATC Center for Education and Excellence in Learning (CETL) is offering this faculty development opportunity at no cost. Just show up Tuesday, March 27, at 12:30 p.m. in the CETL training room, AB164 (Admin Bldg).
Presenters include Dr. Rita Smilkstein, author and international expert on brain‑compatible teaching; and David Arendale, former President of the National Association for Development Education and Assistant Professor /Outreach Advisor, Center for Research on Developmental Education and Urban Literacy, University of Minnesota‑Twin Cities.
An Internet discussion forum moderated by Dr. Gail Platt will run for a week following the broadcast.
