ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS WEEK
April 22-28, 2007
Each year the International Association of Administrative Professional (IAAP) salutes the year-long work of administrative support employees with activities in the workplace during Administrative Professionals Week, April 22-28. This year’s theme is “Shaping the Future.”
The business technology department, which houses MATC’s administrative assistant (AA), business software applications specialist, and AA online programs, as well as a number of certificates including the Basic and Advanced Certificate in Microsoft Office, Website Development, Project Management, and Basic Medical Reception Skills Certificates, will sponsor recognition activities for the college’s administrative support personnel in cooperation with the MATC full-time and part-time faculty unions.
Weekly events include:
Monday, April 23, 8 - 9 a.m., *Truax Room 142A/B
MATC employees in administrative support staff positions are invited to start their week with a coffee and morning snack with members of the business technology department faculty and students.
Wednesday, April 25, Administrative Professionals Day
MATC offices, centers and departments are encouraged to recognize the administrative support employees within their units. Recommendations for individual and group recognition activities can be found on the IAAP website. The primary focus for the events should be professional development and recognition such as educational offerings, networking, memberships in professional organizations, luncheons, and the like.
Thursday, April 26, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, 1109 Fourier Drive, Madison
The Madison Chapter of IAAP will offer their annual seminar (program and registration information) for interested Madison-area administrative professionals. MATC employees wishing to attend should request approval from their supervisor.
*Business technology faculty at other campuses will host activities at their locations.
