Update on East Washington Avenue construction

Here’s the planned work for the week of April 16, for East Washington Avenue (Second Street to Marquette Street):

  • Reconstruction of the outbound lanes will continue
  • Pavement Removal and grading from 4th Street to 6th Street
  • Pavement Removal and grading from Johnson Street to Marquette Street
  • Water Main construction on S. 4th Street under traffic
  • Water Main construction west of 4th Street, on 4th Street, Marquette Street
  • Sanitary Sewer construction
  • Bridge work near the Starkweather Creek including removal of south half of existing bridge
  • Work by private utility companies
  • S. Fourth Street is anticipated to be closed the week of April 23

Here’s the planned work for the week of April 16, for East Washington Avenue (Thornton Avenue to Second Street):

  • Work is continuing on grading for the bike paths, and work on the retaining walls on the south side of the bridge

Bus stops will be maintained in the construction zone, See Metro website or project website - ‘Metro Transit During Construction’ for details.

There will be no parking on East Washington Avenue in the construction zone.

Alternative Routes are I90/94 and the beltline.
