MATC Baseball Hosts 2007 NJCAA Northwest District Tournament on Saturday-Sunday

MADISON, WI - May 16, 2007 - Madison Area Technical College is hosting the 2007 NJCAA Northwest District Baseball Tournament on Saturday-Sunday, May 19-20, at Robin Roberts Baseball Field on the MATC-Truax Campus. Three teams including Iowa Central Community College (Fort Dodge, IA), Miles Community College (Miles City, MT) and Madison Area Technical College will play in a double-elimination tournament for the right to advance to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II World Series in Millington, TN.
MATC advanced to the District Tournament by winning the Region XIII Tournament last weekend in Madison. MATC is currently 41-14 overall and last made a trip to the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2005.
