East Washington Ave. Construction Update
May 24, 2007 | EditorHere’s the planned work for the week of May 28th, for East Washington Avenue (Second Street to Marquette Street)
Reconstruction of the outbound lanes continues including:
- Preparation for concrete paving from 3rd to 7th Street (includes setting stringline, trimming and adjustments)
- Concrete paving is anticipated for Thursday May 31st and Friday June 1st for East Washington from 3rd to 7th Street and South 4th Street
- CLOSED INTERSECTION: South 4th Street on Wed 5/30 thru Sat 6/2
- Sanitary sewer from Union to Milwaukee, Milwaukee Street
- Storm sewer 6′x3′ box culvert from Johnson Street to Pawling Street
- Water main construction from Pawling towards Milwaukee Street, and Milwaukee Street
- Grading from Marquette to Johnson Street
- Bridge work for the roadway structure over Starkweather Creek, and for the new pedestrian structure
- Work by private utility companies
- MILWAUKEE STREET WILL BE CLOSED from East Washington Avenue to Fair Oaks Avenue from 6pm Friday June 1st thru 6am Monday June 4th for construction of sanitary sewer and water main. There is no signed detour, please use alternate routes.
Here’s the planned work for the week of May 28th, for East Washington Avenue (Thornton Avenue to Second Street)
Work is continuing on grading for the bike paths, and work on the retaining walls on the south side of the bridge:
- Pavement marking on East Washington Avenue and South First Street
Bus stops will be maintained in the construction zone, See Metro website or project website - “Metro Transit During Construction� for details.There will be no parking on East Washington Avenue in the construction zone.
