East Washington Ave. Construction Update
June 3, 2007 | EditorHere’s the planned work for the week of June 1-4 for East Washington Avenue (Second Street to Marquette Street)
- MILWAUKEE STREET WILL BE CLOSED at East Washington Avenue from 6 p.m. Friday, June 1, thru 6 a.m. Monday, June 4, for construction of sanitary sewer and water main. There is no signed detour; please use alternate routes. Crews will be all weekend, including working into the night and early in the morning.
Here’s the planned work for the week of June 4 for East Washington Avenue (Second Street to Marquette Street)
Reconstruction of the outbound lanes continues including:
- Additional concrete paving from 3rd to 7th Street
- Concrete curb and gutter from 3rd to 7th Street
- Storm sewer on Milwaukee Street
- Storm sewer from Johnson Street to Union Street
- Storm sewer lateral construction from Oak Street to Pawling Street
- Water main construction from Union Street to Pawling Street
- Grading from Marquette to Johnson Street
- Bridge work for the roadway structure over Starkweather Creek, and for the new pedestrian structure
- Work by private utility companies
- MILWAUKEE STREET WILL BE CLOSED from East Washington Avenue to Fair Oaks Avenue from 6 p.m. Friday, June 8 thru 6 a.m. Monday, June 11, for construction of water services and storm sewer. There is no signed detour, please use alternate routes.
The East Washington Avenue (Thornton Avenue to Second Street) project is finishing up.
The work remaining includes pavement marking on East Washington Avenue and South First Street, and minor punch list items.
Bus stops will be maintained in the construction zone, See Metro website or project website - “Metro Transit During Construction” for details. There will be no parking on East Washington Avenue in the construction zone. Alternative Routes are I90/94 and the beltline. The field office phone is (608) 242-7305, fax is (608) 242-7317.
