RE: Executive Director of Economic and Workforce Development for the MATC Eastern Region
DATE: June 26, 2007
We are pleased to announce that Lorin Toepper has accepted the position of Executive Director of Economic and Workforce Development for the MATC Eastern Region. This region includes the campuses at Fort Atkinson and Watertown. The Executive Director is responsible for fostering economic and workforce development in the region through the establishment of partnerships that encourage growth and visibility for the college. The Executive Director is also responsible for maintaining and enhancing internal MATC partnerships that relate to programming and course offerings at the regional campuses.
Dr. Toepper has been an Associate Dean at MATC in the Business area since 2001. Prior to that, he served as an Economic Development Consultant, Advisor, and Marketing Specialist for several regions in Wisconsin and throughout the United States. Lorin has also taught Tourism, Marketing, and Hospitality in Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Alaska. He holds a Ph.D. in Resource Economics and maintains a keen interest in economic and workforce development issues. Lorin’s expertise in building partnerships, initiating innovative programming solutions, and furthering economic development is certain to benefit the Eastern Region and MATC.
In July, Lorin will help with the transition to the new Deans in the Business and Applied Arts Center. At the same time, he will begin to assume his new duties in the Eastern Region. Both transitions are expected to be complete by the end of July.
Please join me in congratulating Lorin on this new responsibility.
