East Washington Ave. Construction Update

Here’s the planned work for the week of August 20 for East Washington Avenue (Second Street to Marquette Street)

Stage 4 – Reconstruction of the inbound lanes from 3rd to 6th Street:

  • Asphalt paving on side streets
  • Topsoil and landscaping work
  • Permanent signing and pavement marking
  • Traffic switch anticipated early on Thursday morning, August 23. Two inbound lanes of traffic will be placed on the new inbound concrete pavement from 6th to 3rd Street. Work to complete the median will begin.

Stage 3 – Extension of utilities thru the median from Milwaukee Street to Marquette Street, and preparation for stage 4:

  • Completion of underground utilities across the median
  • Temporary asphalt and traffic control for stage 4
  • Traffic switch anticipated early on Thursday morning, August 23. Two inbound lanes of traffic will move onto the new outbound concrete pavement from Marquette to 6th Street. Stage 4 consists of re-construction of the inbound lanes.
  • Bridge work for the new pedestrian structure, and work on the north side of East Washington Avenue
