RE: WEEKEND AND EVENING SECURITY CHANGES

We are making a change to our weekend and evening security practices, which are reflective of our commitment to providing an environment that is safe and secure for all members of our campus community.

Beginning this weekend, uniformed security officer coverage will provide 24-hour, 7-day-a-week coverage at the Truax and Administration Building. In addition, security response will be provided to the Commercial Avenue Center, the Fire Science Education Center and the Downtown Education Center on the weekends. This change supports the overall MATC goal of allowing the facilities to be better utilized on the weekends by our students and staff and to better serve the entire MATC community.

Staff, faculty and programs wishing to provide access to their areas on campus during the weekends now have the opportunity to make that happen. We ask that when you wish to be on campus you now contact Security Services at 608-243-4357. A security officer will respond and provide you with the needed access to the facility.

This is a new concept, made possible through the reallocation of our current Security Services resources. We feel this new approach is very much needed and is just one of many changes we anticipate to make in the future for the betterment of the entire MATC community.
