Join us as we explore the endless possibilities of Classroom Assessment Techniques(CATs). Discover ways you never thought of to “measureâ€? how well your students are learning. Learn easy-to-apply techniques to improve your teaching skills and gain new insights. This is a “hand’s onâ€? workshop. You will leave with a new assessment activity to try!
Course Expectations: How Do Students Know?

Workshop Description:
This 90 minute session is designed help you identify ways to clarify course expectations within the syllabus, grading policies, and grading criteria of your classes. Examples of syllabi and policies will be shared. Bring a course you want to work on. We will have a demonstration of best practices, along with a working guide, to help you find ways to communicate your expectations more clearly so that students understand what they need to do to succeed in your class. The last 30 minutes of the session will be “work time” with computers available.
Rubrics Workshop

Workshop Description:
This session will be a hands on training of how to build a rubric. There will be samples, resources, and an activity to build a rubric. Bring thoughts on a rubric you would like to create or change. There will be guided work time to create a rubric for your classes.
