Please Help the Vet Tech Students Help area Animals in Need!
November 16, 2007 | EditorA second-year student in the Vet Tech Program has organized a drive to collect items needed by the following organizations. Items will be accepted through the end of this semester and can be dropped off outside the Vet Tech Program Area located at the Truax Campus 1st floor across from the Child Care Center (rm 160).
We are collecting items for Rock, Adams and Sauk County Humane Societies. These three shelters work closely with the Vet Tech program to provide hands‑on experiences for our students. Following is a list items requested:
- Rawhides and treats
- litter pans
- dog and cat toys
- Kongs (lrg or medium)
- collars and leashes
- non‑clumping(clay)litter
- unopened dog and cat food (Purina and/or Iams)
We are also collecting items for Dane County Friends of Ferals. This organization, too, helps to provide an unique and rewarding experience for our students. They are requesting items needed for the fostering of kittens and include the following items:
- Crates (that open from the top)
- toys (glitter balls and toy mice)
- heating pads (not auto shut-off type)
- small baby blankets
- Yesterday’s News litter
- KMR (kitten milk replacement formula)
- unopened food (Science Diet or Iams kitten dry and wet)
Thank you!
