Re: Associate Dean For Human & Protective Services
Date: December 7, 2007
It is with great pleasure that I announce Scott Sterland’s acceptance to the position of Associate Dean for Human and Protective Services.
Scott brings 17 years of experience with the King County Sheriff’s Office in Seattle, Washington and an extensive and varied background in police work. Most recently, Scott has been employed as the Chief of Police with the Mount Horeb Police Department and will be retiring as a sworn law enforcement officer after three years of service there.
Scott obtained his bachelor’s degree in Law and Justice from Central Washington University with a minor in psychology and also earned his master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Scott has also served as a part-time instructor for MATC in the area of law enforcement ethics and has been involved in the instruction of law enforcement officers for approximately seven years.
Scott was born and raised in Washington State. He is the son of a music teacher and has been involved in music his entire life even playing through college and some semi-professionally for the Seattle Light Opera.
Scott will officially begin his duties with MATC in January, 2008. Please help me welcome Scott to MATC!
