Obituary: Julie Miller, wife of John S. Miller, long-time Accounting teacher

Julie Anne (Jennings) Miller, age 67, died on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was born in Ann Arbor, Mich. on Aug. 14, 1940, the daughter of the late Robert M. and Helen D. (White) Jennings.

She graduated from Central High School in Kalamazoo, Mich. in 1957. She then attended Western Michigan University, where she received a degree in Occupational Therapy and also received her Masters in Special Education. Julie was united in marriage to John S. Miller on Aug. 24, 1968. Before moving to Madison, Julie was a teacher at the Upjohn School in Kalamazoo for children with special needs. After moving to Madison, Julie spent her time raising their two children, Robert and Patricia. Julie was devoted to helping others and her family and often volunteered at Middleton Outreach Ministry and the Middleton Senior Center.

She is survived by her husband, John of Middleton; daughter, Patricia (Michael) Priebe of Middleton; son, Robert of Oregon; brother, Jon R. (Linda) Jennings of Paw Paw, Mich.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Thomas Priebe.

A Memorial Service will be held at CALVARY GOSPEL CHURCH, 5301 Commercial Ave., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, with Pastor John Grant officiating. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Middleton Outreach Ministry.
