Our regrets to the family of MATC student Stacy McAliley

We recently learned of the untimely death of student Stacy McAliley. Below is information on her funeral arrangements. Our regrets go out to her family and her friends at MATC.

Stacy J. McAliley, age 24, of Rio, was taken from her family on Saturday Feb. 16, 2008, due to a train accident near Fall River. Stacy was born on Sept. 10, 1983, in Columbus the youngest of three children to Randall and Barbara (Austin) McAliley. She graduated from Columbus High School in 2002. She also had been attending MATC in Portage and Madison and was on the Dean’s list. Stacy had many interests in her life that included dogs and animals of all types, she enjoyed swimming, she liked motorcycles and motorcross and most recently she had taken up photography. She was a very outgoing and happy person. She was always on the go with many projects going on at the same time. She is survived by her father, Randall (Terri) McAliley of Fall River; her mother, Barb (Terry Dushack) McAliley of Rio; her soulmate of many years, Adam Hohlstein of Rio; paternal grandparents, Stan and Carolyn McAliley of Columbus; maternal grandparents, Connie and John Atkinson of Pardeeville and James Austin of Rio; two sisters, Corrie McAliley of Tumwater, Wash. and Sara (Mike Bornick) McAliley of Fall River; nieces and nephews, Bella, Beau, Nola, Dominick and Damien; other near relatives, Tonya Hohlstein, Christopher Whitmore and Robert Hohlstein; and many aunts, uncles and friends. Memorial services for Stacy J. McAliley will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at 4 p.m. at the VANGEN FUNERAL HOME in Rio. The Rev. Carol Hermann will officiate. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home On Wednesday from 3 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m. A luncheon will follow the services in the communtiy room of the VANGEN FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Stacy McAliley that will be used for a college fund for the nieces and nephews.
