rideshare inc logoEveryone faces a commute to school that’s just a bit different. From what time they leave home in the morning to the specific route they take and the mode they choose, each commuter needs to find a travel solution to meet their individual needs. Rideshare Etc is a service that will provide help for checking commuting opportunities based on each individual’s circumstances, including ride-share pools, Metro Transit, State Vanpools, ped/bike paths (maps), and Park N Ride lots.

Information on each of these options will be available in MATC Truax cafeteria Feb 26-27, and a representative of the Rideshare Etc service will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to assist anyone to check their options.

As an incentive, students that participate receive free Metro transit passes, Guaranteed Ride Home service, which provides a tax voucher in cases of emergency when a student (or employee) is at school without their vehicle, and help to form/join rideshare arrangements. Most commuters can save over $1,500 per year.

Anyone can request a search of alternatives, at no charge or obligation, based on their individual circumstances. You choose the option that you think is best, if any. Or, you can try doing the search yourself interactively on the Rideshare Inc website or call 266-RIDE (7433) for help. For 80% of employees the search results in an average of four options.

The Rideshare Etc. Program is a service sponsored jointly by City-County-State government to provide commuters throughout the region with alternative transportation. The benefits of the program are to reduce congestion, emissions, and costs.

Why not check it out Feb. 26-27 in the MATC cafeteria and see what the program can do for you?
