Come One, Come All!

MATC Math Club Celebrates PI Day 2008 on March 13, from noon to 1 p.m. at Truax in room 129C. Cash Awards for winners.

As you know, March 14 is our Convocation day. As a result, why not celeberate a day early. Here’s the total package for that day, Thursday, March 13:

PI Poster Competition
Top prize $50. Deadline, March 7, 2008. Posters will be judged on overall impact of the display for eye‑catching appeal and visual attractiveness, clarity, appropriateness and creativity. (faculty wanted to serve as judges; contact Sri )

Rules: Posters will measure between 18″‑ 24″, any weight of paper is admitted. They must be original. Computer graphics are allowed. Be sure the poster itself gives information that identifies the participant and his/her instructor’s name. Students may work individually or in teams.

Pi Recital
Recital of the digits of Pi at 12:30 p.m. in #129C. The maximum number of digits correctly and clearly enunciated in 3 minutes and 14 seconds. Students need to register ahaead of time through their instructors. Limited number of applicants. Again we need faculty to serve as judges. Top prize $50.

PIe eating contest
at noon in Truax Room 129

We need faculty sponsors with a registration fee of $10 per contestant. The winner will be judged by the number of apple pies eaten by the contestant in 3 minutes and 14 seconds.

Judge: Punky Egan/Culinary Dept. There will be two top prizes, one for men and one for women, each $50. Please sponsor a student. It will be fun!
