Learning the ins and outs of good nutrition can take some time, but a great place to start is learning how to read a food label. At first reading labels may seem burdensome, however once you learn what to look for you will be able to glance at a label for 10‑20 seconds and know if you should be putting it in your grocery cart or into your body.

The American Dietetics Association is a great resource for nutrition information. Read “Get Smart, Get the Facts on Food Labels” (PDF: 544KB) for a quick overview of how to understand a food label.
