Outstanding Student Tutors of the Year nominations due

The Outstanding Student Tutor of the Year awards have been established to annually recognize three (3) MATC students who have demonstrated excellence and commitment in tutoring other MATC students. Tutors and Supplemental Instruction Leaders (SI Leaders) may be in a paid or volunteer position. Each of the nominees is announced and the selected students are presented with an award at The Annual Celebration of Student Success Dinner in late April/earlyMay of each year. Student names will be etched in commemoration on The Students of Distinction Wall at MATC Truax.
Eligibility:
- enrollment in at least six (6) credits at MATC during the semester of service (fall and/ or spring semester of current academic year)
- tutored at least one semester
- minimum, cumulative grade point average of 3.0, or above
Nomination Criteria ‑ Please attach typed page(s) to provide examples of the following:
- service/contributions/accomplishments as a tutor or supplemental
- instruction leader (include semesters of service, subjects tutored, approximate number of students who have been tutored, etc.)
- demonstrates a value for life‑long learning
- demonstrates ethical behaviors & positive values
- values in his/her role within the college community
- positive impact on others (students, faculty, staff, community members,
- guests, etc.)
- other reasons “why� the student employee stands apart from other student tutors at MATC (problems solved, ethical dilemmas successfully overcome, etc.)
Important Notes:
- nominations/applications will be evaluated based on the criteria listed above
- nomination of this student for this award, does not prevent nomination of the student for other awards at MATC
- INCOMPLETE OR LATE NOMINATIONS/APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
