Roots of Brazil Capoeira demonstration-part of UCG “Respect Month”

United Common Ground (UCG) has deemed the month of April as “Respect Month.� The organization has reached out to all campus clubs/organizations to help co‑sponsor events relating to respecting diversity, culture, ourselves, the environment, political differences, etc. Most events are scheduled between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Truax cafeteria.

Folllowing is a sampling of what is scheduled:

  • April 2-Roots of Brazil Capoeira demonstration
  • April 9-Asian Cultural Expo
  • April 10-Native American Dance Exhibition (Mitby Theater)
  • April 15-Figurheads‑Hip Hop for Positive Social Change
  • April 17-Black Student Union Interactive Fun
  • April 22-Intergenerational Earth Day Project w/Leopold and Wingra Elementary Schools
  • April 24-Cultural Celebration
