United Common Ground (UCG) presents “Respect Month”
April 2, 2008 | EditorUnited Common Ground (UCG) has deemed the month of April as “Respect Month.” The organization has reached out to all campus clubs/organizations to help co‑sponsor events relating to respecting diversity, culture, ourselves, the environment, political differences, etc. Most events are scheduled between 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Truax cafeteria.
Folllowing is a sampling of what is scheduled:
- April 2-Roots of Brazil Capoeira demonstration
- April 9-Asian Cultural Expo
- April 10-Native American Dance Exhibition (Mitby Theater)
- April 15-Figurheads‑Hip Hop for Positive Social Change
- April 17-Black Student Union Interactive Fun
- April 22-Intergenerational Earth Day Project w/Leopold and Wingra Elementary Schools
- April24-Cultural Celebration
