Tech Academy Call for Presenters!
Tech Academy is a 2 ½ day in-house conference that is free for all employees. The session lengths are 90 minutes and 3 hours and cover a wide variety of technology offerings for the novice to high end user. The Tech Academy atmosphere is casual and “camp-like� with a focus on fun. Participants receive a T-shirt, pen, and other trinkets.

The sessions run all day Tuesday and Wednesday, including evening offerings. Thursday morning has two sessions and a closing luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. with door prizes for those in attendance. Registration will be available online at the end of April. Watch MATC matters for details.
We are currently recruiting presenters for this year’s Tech Academy. If you would like to share your expertise of a topic in the Technology area, complete a Presenter Form!

  • Ethics in Teaching - 072-PD017A
    This workshop will introduce MATC instructors to Ethics in Teaching, highlighting the need for Ethics in Teaching. In the session, I will emphasize and explicate the following necessary pre-conditions for understanding the role that ethics plays in teaching. More specifically, to that end, I will emphasize knowledge of the following:
    1. Development of an ethical teacher
    2. Conduct of a teacher as in
    a. inter-professional conduct,
    b. conduct with students
    c. characteristics of an ethical teacher.

  • Free Teaching and Learning Software for your Class - 072-PD015A
    Nancy Woodward from eTech College of Wisconsin will demonstrate effective development of multimedia content for your online class including graphics, podcasts, and interactive presentations-all using open source software freely available through the Web. Participants will be given the opportunity to try some of the free software during the session.
