Increased FTEs reflect college-wide efforts to support students

cupcakesAt a meeting Wednesday, the Learner Success Leadership Team was greeted by an array of little cupcakes painted with beaming faces, each representing one of the approximately 460 new FTEs added since the college’s Enrollment Management project began in 2006. Because so many of our students attend college part time, those 460 FTEs actually represent three times as many lives transformed.

“We asked the team to take the cupcakes back to their centers, departments and offices to share with faculty and staff because everyone has had a role in bringing this positive change,” says Becky Baumbach, vice president for Strategic Advancement. “The entire college made the commitment to support student success by breaking down barriers to access and increasing support for our students. Our increased figures are a direct result of those efforts. We can all be very proud.”

Highlights of the past two years include

  • Online application, registration and related services through the InsideMATC Student Center
  • Access to support 24/7 through online tutorials and AskMATC
  • A one-stop Student Development Center and enhanced advising services in Centers
  • More creative delivery formats such as hybrid and FastTrack
  • More evening and weekend offerings and extended hours for support services.

On Monday, we kick off a new season of service to students as fall registration for continuing students begins. Here’s to our continued success!
