“The Tower of Hanoi Puzzle” is the title of MATC Math Club’s next presentation. The lecture by Professor Norbert Kuenzi, UW–Oshkosh, will be held on May 7 at 3:30 p.m. in Room 321 at Truax.
The Tower of Hanoi Puzzle originally appeared as an interesting amusement and curiosity in the latter part of the 19th century. Recently there has been a renewed interest in this popular puzzle, it can be used to introduce the idea of recursion. Some variations of the puzzle such as allowing an additional peg leads to interesting questions and conjectures.
