End-of-year International Education deadlines and opportunities

Stipends Available for Participants in the Summer Institute on International Education
MATC is hosting a three-day Summer Institute on “Infusing Understanding of Peace and Conflict in the Muslim World
into the Curriculum” this june 18-20 at MATC DTEC. This program will include a number of national and regional experts as well as time for dialogue and interaction among conference participants.
A limited number of $200 stipends are available to participants who can demonstrate that they will use the information gathered in the Institute to develop curriculum or other projects to disseminate broader understanding of the issues presented. Applications for stipends should be submitted no later than Friday, May 30, for consideration.

Study Abroad Program Proposals
Proposals for any faculty-led international travel programs involving students or community members scheduled to take place in fall 2008 or spring 2009 are due by Friday, May 30. Title VI Grant Curriculum Proposals
MATC faculty are invited to submit proposals for new courses or course revisions that will significantly infuse international learning competencies into the course curriculum. Proposals are welcome from any and all programs areas and departments of the college.
Successful proposals will include curriculum development plans to foster global knowledge, skills, and attitudes, and provide courses in a student’s program that will count toward the Global Studies Certificate. Proposals for summer curriculum development are due by Friday, May 30. An additional call for proposals and round of awards will be conducted in fall 2008.
