Congratulations to our students (and faculty) from the MATC chapter of Business Professionals of America who attended the National Leadership Conference in Reno, NV. Along with other WTCS students, they represented Wisconsin in competitive events against schools from across the country, including many four-year institutions.

Accounting instructor M. Jeff Quinlan, who accompanied the students with colleague Brian Schmoldt, said, “We returned Sunday evening tired but thankful for the experience to learn, meet, network and compete in a variety of business events. I can think of no other event that better encompasses all of the business programs’ (accounting, management and finance) knowledge and skills than the financial analysis team event.”

MATC students Barb Giss and Ezra Deutsch received first place, dupped National Champions of the event, and Barb also earned first place in an event open to all participants in Administrative Support Concepts.

Thanks to Mark Finger for grouping the members into the various teams for the state competition and to all the business instructors whose feedback gave the students as another chance to learn.
