June is National Safety Month
May 21, 2008 | EditorEach year the National Safety Council designates June as National Safety Month to draw attention to the importance of safety on and off the job. This year the theme of National Safety Month is “Make a Difference” stressing the urgent need to reverse an increase in accidental deaths and injuries. Each week of the month will focus on one of the leading causes of preventable death:
- June 2-6: Emergency Preparedness
- June 9-13: Distracted Driving
- June 16-20: Poisoning Prevention
- June 23-27: Falls Prevention
The National Safety Council provides posters, safety risk and tip sheets and injury prevention information to help you promote National Safety Month so that businesses, homes and all places and roads in between are safer for all of us. These materials are available on their website.
Thank you.
