The Waunakee Senior Center hosted an Open House and Art Show on May 14 showcasing the talents of members of the MATC Adult and Continuing Education art class “Painting for Pleasure.” This class, taught by Waunakee artist Gladys Grieger, has the distinction of being one of the longest running MATC classes to be offered in Waunakee and has successfully met the needs and fostered the talents of class members for more than 20 years.

Class members were present at the Open House to discuss their goals and to show their artistic achievements. Instructor Gladys Grieger also attended. In addition to teaching basic painting techniques, her goal as a teacher is to inspire creativity and to show that painting can be a rewarding experience and a means of self-expression.
