Instructors, students donate to help OWL
June 3, 2008 | EditorOWL stands for Outdoors Without Limits, an organization devoted to helping people with disabilities participate in outdoor activities by pairing them with able-bodied outdoor enthusiasts. Park Towne Corp. is sponsoring a fundraiser for OWL to kick off a new local chapter. The “kickoff” event will be at the Monona Terrace on June 13.
As a fundraiser for the event, the group has invited artists to paint ceramic owls to be auctioned off to benefit OWL national and the new local chapter. An announcement of the fundraiser and event was shared with MATC art teachers and students and several students, as well as instructors Valerie Weihman and Emmalee Pearson, have taken up the call to donate painted owls.
