Former MATC lefthander, Steve Gilgenbach, who played for the WolfPack during the 2006 season, was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 47th round (1399 overall) of the 2008 First-Year Major League Player Draft. Gilgenbach, a standout athlete at Fond Du Lac H.S., is currently a senior at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. Online Article on Steve Gilgenbach

MATC Baseball All-American, Evan Kohli, Signs with NCAA Division I Illinois State: All-American Evan Kohli, starting first-basemen and pitcher for the Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Baseball team signed with NCAA Division I Illinois State University. The former Hutchinson H.S. (Hutchinson, MN) standout, played two seasons for the WolfPack and is currently playing summer baseball for the Madison Mallards.

This spring, Kohli become the fifteenth All-American in MATC Baseball history and the fifth MATC Baseball player in the last five years to receive All-American honors when he was named NJCAA Division II Third Team All-American. Online Article on Evan Kohli’s Signing
