Looking for A Way to Help MATC Improve? LSQIP Needs You!
September 2, 2008 | EditorThe Learning Systems Quality Improvement Process (LSQIP) is seeking individuals who want to have a positive influence on the college by serving a 2- to 3-year term on the LSQIP Review Team (LRT). Training is provided.
The LSQIP Review Team is a working group composed of faculty, staff and administrators. We are currently looking for representation from full‑time faculty, PSRP and service area managers.
The work consists of:
- Reviewing two to three portfolios a month during the school year
- Submitting comments on a unit’s strengths and opportunities for improvement
- Attending a meeting at the end of each month for approximately 2 hours to come
to consensus on all team members’ comments
Current member Diane Jetzer believes that, “Serving on this team is probably one of the most interesting in the college and offers the best learning opportunity for the participants – for both the reviewers and those who complete the document.
LSQIP Review Team members also feel their participation is worthwhile because:
- They learn more about other MATC programs and service areas through LSQIP than any other venue or opportunity.
- LSQIP provides an opportunity to meet faculty and staff you might not normally
know. - Meetings are short and to‑the‑point.
- LSQIP prepares them for writing their own department’s portfolio.
