Dean of the Center of Business and Applied Arts Turina Bakken is also a long-time athlete and sports enthusiast. She’s co-hosting a new radio show on ESPN (1070am) called the Wisconsin Women’s Sports Hour. Her co-host is Jack Eich (a current manager at CUNA).

The show airs Tuesdays (9/9, 9/16, 9/23 and 9/30) from 7-8 p.m. but will move to Thursdays (10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23 and 10/30) from 6-7 p.m.

The aim of the show is to build awareness and create excitement for women’s sports and will include both sports news and upcoming schedules, but also feature news items that relate to women’s sports and human interest stories about the coaches and athletes.

A UW alum and coach, Turina has helped the UW in other sports capacities including serving as member of the Board of Women’s basketball and color commentator for UW women’s hockey broadcasts on public television.
