It won’t be long now before “Old Man Winter” is here. So is your car ready for the snow and cold?

Here’s how you can make sure it is, and help out a good cause at the same time. For the sixth straight year MATC automotive students, with the help of their instructors, are having a free Car Care Clinic. All you have to do is drop-off a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to a local food pantry.

“Our students will check brakes, belts, hoses, wipers and other key parts, plus top-off fluids,” says Craig Lathrop, MATC automotive instructor and automotive club advisor. Car owners will be advised of any mechanical problems, but there will be no repairs during the clinic.

The free Car Care Clinic is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. It will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Truax center courtyard. Signs will help direct drivers to the clinic.
