“Shorts in November” Fundraiser

Here’s an excuse to wear shorts to work, while helping out a good cause at the same time.
The fourth annual “Shorts in November” meningitis awareness campaign and Eddy Bailey Memorial Scholarship Fund will take place on Tuesday, November 11. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to wear shorts on that day. You can also buy a pair of “paper shorts” and make a tax deductible donation of $1 or more to the Eddy Bailey Scholarship Fund.
Eddy contracted Type C Meningococcemia and died six years ago. His mom, Gail Bailey, is a business instructor at MATC’s Watertown campus. She says Eddy wore shorts all of his life and wanted a career where he could wear shorts every day.
A $1,000 scholarship has been set-up in Eddy’s memory. It will be given to a deserving student in December.
