If you dread doing your income taxes or can’t afford to have them prepared—MATC can help.

MATC is partnering with the state Department of Revenue and the Internal Revenue Service to establish a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program at the college’s Truax campus. The service is free and open to the nearly everyone.

MATC accounting students and Department of Revenue representatives will be providing the free tax service in the Student Lounge on Tuesdays from noon until 5 p.m. The program kicks-off on January 27 and runs through April 7 (no services on March 17).

If married and filing together, both spouses must be present to sign the tax return. Unfortunately, students cannot prepare married, filing separately tax returns at the VITA site.

No appointments are necessary. Call 608-246-6003 or 246-6458 (en espanol) for more information.
