The Yahara Journal and the Creative Writing Department are hosting guest author Adrian Matejka on Thursday, February 26,
from 2-3 p.m. in the Truax Student Lounge.
Adrian Matejka is the author of The Devil’s Garden (Alice James Books). He’s a Cave Canem fellow and his work has appeared or is forthcoming in The American Poetry Review, Crab Orchard Review, Gulf Coast, Indiana Review, and Pleiades among other journals and anthologies. He teaches creative writing and English
Literature at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
He’s widely recognized as one of the nation’s top emerging poets. One unique aspect of his writing is that he attempts link features from his favorite rap music with his favorite poetry.
The event is free and open to the public. Classes are welcome. Funding for the event is provided by an MATC Foundation Innovation Grant.
