Students from the Interior Design program took first place at the recent Student GREENlife Competition at NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in Chicago!

NeoCon is the largest trade show of its kind in North America, showcasing thousands of innovative products and resources for commercial and residential interiors from more than 1,200 showrooms and exhibitors.

The competition challenge was to design a sustainable space for their college campus and present it in a 10 foot by 20 foot booth concept. The design competition was open to architecture and design schools all across the country, and MATC was a finalist along with Indiana State University. The team of designers from MATC redesigned the Wolfpack Den space at Truax campus using sustainable furnishings and finishes.  Floor plans and sketches of the design concept were submitted and MATC was selected to have its design showcased in a booth at the Merchandise Mart. A team of design professionals juried the installations and selected MATC as the First Place winner.

Congratulations to instructor Tiffany Esser and her team of designers: Cindy Hansen, James Williams, Michelle Dineen and Jocelyn Olson.
