Five, four, three, two, one…get ready for launch!

The Marketing and Technology Services departments are pleased to announce that MATC’s new content management system and redesigned website and will be ready for launch this Saturday (August 1). The changes will make it easier for staff to post web content, and the new website will offer additional web functionality.

Please take a few moments to view a graphic of the new faculty resource area site and take a look at the links to your favorite applications.

This summer, many groups were invited to participate in our usability tests to evaluate site quality: prospective students, current students, parents, staff, community members, faculty, part-time faculty, the Leadership Council, and the Systems Integration Council for Technology. The advice and comments of those who participated were invaluable and shaped many of the website components. Since we are just beginning to populate the site, we have many opportunities for you to leverage the new platform over the coming year (or years).

There will be multiple break-out sessions on the web during Convocation. After the August 1 launch, we will continue usability studies into the fall so faculty and staff may contribute to ongoing site improvements and provide ideas for new web projects and content.

Our New Web Administrators
Web Administrators have been identified by the vice presidents as the first point of contact for their area’s web authors. The web administrators identify their  own web authors by area, ensure training by CETL, maintain the master list of content by area, oversee periodic review of area content, serve on a Web Advisory Team, and bring forward new ideas, issues, and projects to maintain web quality.

Our MATC web administrators are:
Learner Development: Doug Kirchberg
Infrastructure: Bonnie Vandre-Blewett
Strategic Advancement: Kelly Schulte
Learner Success: Linda Nellen
Marketing: Julie Kolka
President’s Office: Ellen Hustad

The Systems Integration Council for Technology will continue to be a source for input and quality assessment of the new website. The Technology Services Helpdesk continues to be the first point of contact for technical issues. Web Strategies, Marketing, and the Web Administrators will continue to work together to lead web management in a way that keeps our site current, usable, and technologically friendly.

If you have not already attended a drop-in session this summer, you are invited to the web drop in sessions at fall Convocation. Technology Services Web Strategies will offer sessions until demand is met.

We welcome your feedback on the new website. On August 1, you can share your ideas and comments by going to the A-Z Index and clicking on Web Feedback!
